H.O.M.E. February 2024 Parent Meeting - Maximize Your Children's Learning

  • February 01, 2024
  • 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
  • New Life Church, 6830 Highland Dr, Everett

Registration is closed

From Our Speakers:

We will be talking primarily about vision-related learning issues. For instance:

  • Your brain has to learn how to aim your eyes at a page, focus to make it clear, and move your eyes accurately to read, write, and move.
  • Vision is much more than 20/20 eyesight.
  • Our eyes are not simply a camera (that sees upside down) and our brains do more with what we see than just flip it right side up.
  • Vision is much more than clarity of sight and involves the ability to understand what we see in order to see, think, and move. Vision is what happens in the connection between the eyes and brain.
  • One of every ten children struggle with a vision-related learning problem (and many have 20/20 eyesight).
  • If these struggles are not addressed, they can continue to cause challenges in adulthood.

We will discuss these issues, show visuals, and have you experience all of this and more. We will outline common learning-related vision problems in eye tracking (oculomotor), eye teaming (coordinating the two eyes as a team), and eye focusing (changing eye focus to keep things clear). We will discuss and demonstrate common symptoms and how these problems affect learning, thinking, sport, hobbies and life.

We look forward to answering any and all of your questions and will have resources for you to take home.
